Hybrid Vigor?

In general, nature has provided for mixed animals and plants that the best characteristics are most likely to be expressed. I don't remember where I read the research, but I know that it was done tons of times, and I think it was originally in my biology cl. It is just one of those things that Mother Nature has done to protect her children.
