Sydney Travel Expo?

Hi just wondering if anyone has been to a travel expo in Australia? There's a Flight Centre one at the Syd Convention Ctr this weekend and I have to work but not sure whether it's worth it to get someone to go for me. I need to get a 6mth return ticket to France, plus book a tour or two around Europe. Do these expos provide significant savings? Any traps to watch out for (eg I know a deposit has to be paid on the day) or other tips for getting a good deal? Thanks :-)
