2 torn discs, advanced chronic degenarative disc disease-does the pain ever go away?!!?

Three years ago I torn L4 shoveling heavy snow. Ive been doing physical therapy and chiropractic therapy for a total of over a year now. 2 weeks ago I was in so much pain my doctor sent me to the er for iv pain meds and an MRI. The MRI now shows I have L4 & L5 torn, advanced chronic degenerative disc disease in T11 and T12. I am in so much pain with the tears and muscle spasms. I see a specialist on 11-29. Does anyone have any advice? I just want the pain to go away so I can function again! Thanks!!!!
